Phil & Julie visited Washington and Oregon in August 2007.
Our first stop was in Bellingham, Washington. Here we are standing by an inlet near Post Point in Bellingham Bay, which is not too far from Western Washington University.

We spent the night in Seattle and were able to visit the fascinating Pike Place Market. Below is a photo from a shop that sold every piece of Fiestaware imaginable!

The following day we drove south. Here is Phil standing in the dry swimming area at Sunny Beach Point near Eatonville, Washington. The white pole behind him shows the water level can be as high as 12 feet!

We also drove past nearby Alder Lake.
That same morning, we visited Mt. Rainier. You can see Phil standing in a dry area of the Nisqually River in the photos below.

Mt. Rainier was very impressive!

Leaving Mt. Rainier, we also stopped for a moment at Reflection Lake.

Then we traveled on to Mt. St. Helens, further south in Washington.

We spent that night in Portland, Oregon, but the next morning we drove to the Lake Creek Lodge in Camp Sherman, Oregon.

The Metolius River was cold, but beautiful.

Julie and Phil both tried the water.

Later that day we saw a LOT more fish at Wizard Falls Hatchery.
Sisters, Oregon is not far, and we were invited to visit friends Jan & Mike Gould, and Cynthia Hildebrand (from Pendleton, Oregon) with their Mudi, seen in the photo below. See more photos on the Mudi page.
The following day we visited with Rita Hollingsworth and her dogs in Prineville, Oregon. Calli is the Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Willow and Star are the Belgian Sheepdogs. Willow is a sister to our Claire and daughter of Bechelle. Star is co-owned with Rita and Rachelle Bailey-Austin. See more photos of the dogs on their web pages.
Unfortunately, the next day we had to drive back to Bellingham, Washington to catch our plane ride home. We had a great time!
